(I think Odie should talk, because there was a strip where everyone left the house leaving only Odie... Then Odie read "War and Peace" while watching "An Evening with Mozart" on TV.)---- Probably my all-time favorite strip.

For the same reason that Goofy and Pluto are both dogs but Goofy wears pants, talks and goes on adventures with his son who also wears clothes and talks while Pluto is Mickey's pet.
