I've always known that Carl Marx was originally Jewsih but became an aethist afterwards and built communism on that. The other day I heard this Jew bragging that Marx is an example of brilliant Jews who changed the world. What is the truth about this? Did he stay Jewish? Or was he an aethist?

His family was originially Jewish, but they later converted to Lutheranism to avoid discrimination. Marx become an Atheist.

What the hell is an aethist? He was an Atheist though, remember "Opiate of the masses". He didn't fart that out of any prayer book.

Being jewish is a hodgepodge of religion, ethnicity, and sefl-identification. One is generally called jewish if their mother is jewish whether they practice or not. Judaism has a lot of atheists, they aren't as militant about that as xians.
