just to add to this question about Indians allowing their offspring to marry from someone of a 'non-Indian' race - it's not just the question of the educational background or social status of the family, it's also depends on the race of the spouse - for example, I guess for Indians (as for much of the Asian world) white Caucasian would be definitely better than black... you need to think about this too........Anyways India is a crazy place, with complex social relationships and cultural identities.... just saw something about a Korean guy married to an Indian girl on TV last month and how her family now loves the guy..... couldn't believe my eyes, knowing how Indians regards people of east Asian descent - calling them 'chinks' etc.... just goes to show that there are various factors which would decide the opinion of the Indian family - the family's educational. cultural and social background, the particular race of the spouse. of course economical aspects as well among other things......... hope this helped. Cheers!

Normally marriage of such nature are not accepted. But out of sheer compulsion, there are some known families to encourage, possibly both the boy and girl take upon same education, profession and the like. The governments do give concessions for the girl, viz. for having undergone inter-caste marriage. Their newly born too get a societal status. However developing the modern society, yet some non-acceptance do prevail. But I for one who encourage such marriages, so long as both the hearts accept it. BOL

If a family have faith in Indian values then they won't because Indian don't believe in mixing up breeds. Hindu religion totally disagree to this thought. But if they have changed their ideals then they might accept it.
