If i wanted to start a WET(White Entertainment) television network i would be considered a racist, or even a white supremacist. I think it's funny how black people can do anything racist they want cuz they were treated so bad like 70 years ago. Ex. black people are constantly making fun of white people and calling them different provacative names. But it is basically forbidden that we make fun of black people and call them names. Its messed up and pretty much bull.

I know what you are saying. My husband is black and I am white. And there are times even with us, that it's like, ok, i'll respect you, but you have to respect me in the same way. What it all boils down to is that there are a lot of things that white people don't understand about black people and visaversa. I think BET is good, because there are a lot of white people out there who the only thing they know about black culture is what they see on the news or in a movie, and usually that is a negative image. BET is in place to celebrate the good and explain the bad. Maybe more white people should tune in. and not just for the videos

Yeah, that is pretty messed up.

I guess if you wanted to look at it logically you'd have to argue that because Caucasian American is the dominant culture in the US, most TV is geared towards a predominantly White audience. Setting up a WET would be a little bit pointless. What would they show, reruns of Friends? Besides, there are plenty of minority chanels that no one bats an eyelid over. Take Star-TV for instance, which broadcasts Indian programming (some great movies too).

First off, before I go into my big spiel, I have a few compulsory steps to take care of, just incase ayone takes the following paragraph the wrong way:
1. I recognise that racism is a problem in todays world.
2. I am in no way denying that racism hits the minorities hardest of all
3. I do not condone racism in any form.

Now!
I sort of have to aggree with you though, I do think minorities can get away with murder in the racism game. Personally, I couldn't give a rat's neither regions what people of any colour think of me, and I wouldn't consider it an insult to be called by any of the white racist slurs, but, most of the people throwing them around would be the first to claim racism on another. It's hypocritical, but with the way things are at the moment, with racism and the victim-culture being the flavour du jour, things aren't likely to change any time soon :(

When you are in the 'majority' you have additional responsibilities to protect the rights of people in the minority. I'm sorry that you feel that this condition puts you out.

It doesn't have to be that you're in the majority in terms of raw numbers of people either. Power, wealth and history are all factors that influence your status as a majority population.

In a Democratic society, people in the minority should be given preferential treatment when it comes to voicing opinions, especially when there are historical factors such as oppression and slavery against those same minorities.

Your argument would be stronger if you asserted that black people were not in the minority, economically, politically and socially, but had reached a level of parity with or dominance over white people such that white people were now a minority culture.

I think that would be a very difficult argument to back up.

You know what else is funny?...only the southern blacks were treated poorly on a grand scale. Many Union and northern white people were abolitionists and held an anti-slavery stance. Slavery negatively affected industrialism in the north and positively affected agriculture in the south before Civil War hell broke loose.

Many white people fought for slave freedom. Why black people discriminate against ALL white people makes no sense when not ALL white people were slaveowners. SOME white people tried to FREE YOUR ASSES, so be grateful this isn't Brazil where black people still live in poverty because you're ruled by Portuguese, Spaniards, and Italians.

It's also funny that black people had other black people as slaves back in Africa.

I used to be a Nazi and I used to be white supremacist and I admit that what I did was wrong, but I do not think that black people have the right to do it to white people. They need to tone down their "music". It is more racist, sexist and anti-social than anything a white person has ever written, except for maybe Jay Hawkins. lol

Not all black people are racist towards white. Indeed I think most people would know that if they call white people provacative names or hear someone else doing it, they are being racist. Be the better man and walk away.

You can carry hate in your mind or you can ignore and do something useful with yourself. Racists have something to lose.

Get over yourself.
This is the USA, one country with 50 states and many different races. We are all equal under our laws...it is what makes us different from all others. The Civil War took place in 1861, not 70 years ago. We stand "united, not divided." Get with the program and get off your soapbox...we are all a little tired of the complaints already. Learn and work to eliminate not propagate disunity among us. Being white doesn't make you right.

um okay, you know what... you're screwed up. TRY to put yourself in someone else's shoes for a change. No, I'm not black. I'm white. Just have a conscience. Treat others the way YOU want to be treated.
Simple!!!
