Sequim is a beautiful place to visit in Washington. It is an ideal retirement community because it is in the rain shadow of the Olympics and has gorgeous weather most of the year. It will take a while to get from Seattle to Sequim, 2 to 3 hours or more depending on traffic. You can go two ways, first you can take a ferry if you are coming from Seattle it might be the best way. It takes awhile to get on the ferry and it will take about 30 minutes to get across the Puget Sound. You can also go around the Puget Sound and drive up the pennisula to Sequim. I live in South King County and I find it takes the same amount of time to drive around the Sound as it does to drive up to Seattle to get on a ferry. So if you are coming from further south, especially if it is from the airport, I would choose to drive all the way there (and avoid the ferry cost.) Have fun. It really is a gorgeous place and it is a lot more laid back then the Seattle area.

I think you mean Sequim (pronounced "squim"). It's on the Olympic Peninsula, just east of Port Angeles. You will have to take a ferry to get there. I would recommend taking the Edmonds/Kingston ferry and then take Hwy 104 to 101 and head straight west. From Seattle to the Edmonds ferry is about 30-45 minutes, maybe longer depending on traffic. The ferry ride itself is roughly 30 minutes. Then you'd have another hour's drive on the other side of the water. I'd allow 2-3 hours to get there.

Sequim is on the Olympic Peninsula. From Seattle, you drive North on I-5 to the Edmonds Ferry.
You take the Ferry (a 20 minute ride) to Kingston. Follow the road towards Port Angeles and you go through Sequim.

I think you mean Skyomish. It is not far on I5 going North then taking route 2 east. Probably about an hour drive total.
