I found a low priced cremation package. besides asking for monetary donations from ones I know. Are there any programs that can help? He died of a brain tumor, which we did'nt know of. He was on disability. what assisting program are out there.?

SOCIAL SECURITY MAKES A SMALL CONTRIBUTION TO A SPOUCE.SOMETIMES THERE ARE ORGANIZATIONS THAT WILL HELP. TRY THE AMER.CANCER ASSOC. OR THE SPECIFIC KIND OF TUMOR MIGHT HAVE A STUDY GROUP.\
I LOST MY HUSBAND OF SAME SITUATION. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.YOU SOUND LIKE YOU WERE A WONDERFUL SISTER. ASK THE MORTUARY ABOUT TIME PAYMENTS.

First of all I am so sorry for your loss. I too lost my brother unexpectedly this month in 2001. My prayers are with you. Most cities have resource centers and may be able to help you with financial problems or direct you to someone who can help, have you talked to the funeral directors they would be the best people to help you find a solution. Have you talked to the county also - seeing that he was on disability he may have a case worker who can assist you. I'm sorry again and please believe me when I say my prayers are with you.

Talk to the funeral director, he may be able to assist you, if you do not have the money, then the state can bury you, it is a grave side funeral. Or different organizations has funds for deaths, social security only gives you $250,00. Or you can get on a payment plan with the undertaker.
Blessings to you, at this time.

I'm sorry for your loss sweet heart! Hang in there and be strong for him. You have been chose because you're the strongest, believe it or not! I don't know of any programs but, I sympathize with you. When you're over this hurdle, the best way to recognize him is to make him proud with every action you do! God Bless.

Sometimes the funeral home can help you find a foundation that will help pay for the services. Some will, some won't. Also, through social services in your county, they might be able to help.

Sorry for your loss.

Why don't you try calling the local Chaplain? Listed in the government pages of your local phonebook. He will be a huge help and wealth of information...they deal with this every day so their knowledge is extensive. I am so soo sorry for your loss, honey. I am praying for you and your family. God bless you.
