If the store doesn't take it back, you can definetly send it back to Nike and they will send you a gift certificate for the retail amount. The funny thing is that many times, they send you more than what you actually paid for it.

I'm not sure if they use the retail amount when the shoe first came out or what.

It is worth a try by taking them back to the store you bought them. Ask to speak with a manager. Take the receipt, box, etc. if you have it.

Take them back to the store you got them at, or call Nike and send them back there.
