I'm coming home from iraq and surprising my wife (she thinks I'll be home next week). My parents have offered to go to the store and purchase a present for her but I don't know what I should get. I want something meaningful but I don't have a lot of money. Any suggestions?

First of all, Thank You for your service. Next, I would like to say that you are all she wants, but, being ever so materialistic I suggest you ask someone other than your parents to go buy some lingerie for her. It will be something you can both enjoy!

DON"T surprize her. Women like the pleasure of anticipation. Let her share your joy of an early return. The knock knock is to hard emotionally after you being gone in life/death Iraq.
Present? This is probably the one time in your life where you cannot go wrong. A heart of candy - You'll always have my heart.
A rose for each month/week you have been gone. A 2nd honeymoon away - even a night, parents with ? kids.
And thank you. You have made me a proud American for what you have accomplished in Iraq.

if I was your wife then you coming home would be the only present I'd want. My husband has been to Iraq 5 times in 5 yrs (6mo thre, 6mo home) and just deployed again last week and the ONLY gift I want IS TO SEE HIM and of course SOME AZZ :)

I'd go with a picture frame, and when you get there, when she kisses you, have your parents yake a picture.

When she gets the frame from your parents she'll be like "what's this", and then you walk in the door, she runs and jump and kisses.... the parents take the picture... there's your present.

I hope your time back is relaxing.

I know something meaningful that is inexpensive. Make her a scrapbook filled with pictures of you two and tons of written memories! It'll be something that comes from the heart, is handmade, and that she can keep with her forever.
