I've tried to talk to people but theres no link...... just wanted to chat with people about a couple a things but theres no possible way i can see.....

those answers havent helped me any..... if the people are showing a name, not they're username i cant chat with them on yim.

Unfortunately, they're right. All you can do is click on their profile. If they have their messenger status turned on, then you can request they add you. If the person's email address is shown, you can click on it and send them a message. Or if they have a 360 page, you can leave comments there. But if you want an actual real time conversation, they have to have Yahoo Messenger, AND be available (online).

You need to use yahoo messenger, put out your messenger name... maybe someone will invite you to a messenger chat... depends on what you want to chat about.. I suppose

you can message them only if they are online on yahoo messenger.. and if they ever come on YIM some people don't use it.
