This is what I think I was told in biology. Most of the life processes take place within the nucleus. The nucleus is within the cell and that is where the DNA is reproduced. Check this out twice, though since I haven't been in biology in years.

Most of the life processes take place in the nucleus of the cell. The nucleus is the vital body in the protoplasm of a cell and is the essential agent in growth, metabolism, reproduction, and transmission of characteristics of a cell. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

What is life?

Cellular activity is just molecules and atoms reacting to each other.

A body is just a huge complex set of reactions.
