Let's face it, England need a performing striker, not a 'hasbeen Gillette model'. Anyway, come March, Joe Cole would be back and Lennon would be in fine fettle, all this talk about Becks is a waste.
Playing Beckham would be a recipe for disaster. Too often have we seen him fail, when he tried to push too much.

I know, it's funny, the same thing like with Rooney in a WC !!! English fans and players must realize that the time when there were only three or four great teams is over, today every game is tough ( Croatia wasn't beaten since 94 in Maximir, I think that last year Macedonia played 2-2 with England), only in England and Italy fans and media are always attacking managers and never players, only high quality English players are Terry and Gerrard (Beckham used to be) rest of them are average , but English media is giving some of the players credit that they don't deserve!!!

Beckham is overrated. Not really a brilliant soccer player. Too much show and talk, but no action.
