I've been shopping there pretty much on a regular basis since moving to Texas. I noticed a pattern in their pricing. The prices are lower at the middle to the end of the month than it is in the begining when people get their public assistance benefits. Has anyone else noticed this trend?

No, but I have noticed that the same stuff ain't the same stuff. I thought the cereal from Walmart didn't taste the same as the cereal from the grocery store. It wasn't as good. Kind of like generic versus brand name. I was comparing the label from two boxes of the same brand and happened to notice that the Walmart box came from a different food processing plant. I'll bet they use a different recipe with cheaper ingredients. I bought brownie mix from Walmart and all I could taste was the sugar. If I was blind folded I wouldn't be able to tell it was supposed to be chocolate. Again, a different food plant than the same brand in the grocery store. I think Walmart sells cheap because the stuff is made cheaper.

All retail stores work on generating business throughout entire month but tend to go to extremes at times towards beginning and end due to budget constraints and predictions of company estimates too. Seasonality and Holidays also play a critical role in events and planning to adjust inventory and labor scenario for business. Wal-Mart has big purchasing power so they can pass on the savings to consumers cause they buy in bulk from manufacturers too.....They are not #1 for nothing!! They also carry there own proprietary items!!

Nope, but I'll be looking from now on! Really, though, I wonder how they'd make money on that. SOMEONE would have to be paid to spend hours and hours changing price stickers on the shelves all the time, right?
