Prisons are the worst place you ever what to go? Most teens and some adults have never seen prisons do not even know what it is like. We need tours so everyone will know. It can sure keep people from making bad decisions. What do you think?

I had to visit someone in jail the thing I hated was how horny and desperate the other male inmates were. They would say horrible things and try to grab you. I went wearing a long flowy skirt and they made me go to a store and buy either a tighter skirt or pants so the inmates could not pull me in towards them.

I agree with you about the tours, after being in one I know for sure I would hate to end up there.

Yes I have seen it, the prison where I lived. They gave tours before they open to prisoners. I defintly agree tours are great exspecially for young children 12-18 they need to see it maybe it will scare them enough to keep them from crime. My Little nephew and his friend called 911 and hung up. My brother wanted to teach him a lesson. so when they called back to comfirme it was a hang up. My brother had the police come over and talk to them. My brother knew someone from the force. Needless to say they never Did it again. It only takes once.

Not a prison, but a county jail. They are different. I was in there for 3 weeks because my ex accused me of domestic abuse. (He out-weighed me by at least 50 lbs & had a few inches on height. )But, because they took his word over mine......as one of my friends told me....it was because he had one of these & you have one of those......I was in jail for 3 weeks until he figured out that he locked up his meal ticket. He later went to jail for 5 weeks until his mommie got him out. Anyway....the confinement, lack of options. There was a teacher who came in & asked me if I had my GED. I told her that I have a teaching degree. She asked what I was doing there. It's not always your fault when you are arrested. And innocent until proven guilty is a crock. They treat you like scum. I've seen those scared straight videos. They don't work. Most of the people in jail are there for drugs or drug-related charges. If we had a more progressive policy concerning drugs ( like other civilised countries, they would put these people into rehab & keep the jails open for violent criminal ( such as battering spouses).

i agree nothing like standing in line with 500 other men in front of you on laundry day, seeing grown men cry like abused children , seeing people thrown over balconys, walking in on other inmates masturbating in the shower, having to participate in riots with 500 plus people going at it , but after like a month you get used to it , most repeat criminals i met were happier behind bars than on the streets ,free room and board play spades or poker all day, thats why they would repeat theyr crimes they couldnt stand the stress of trying to survive on the outside , thats what you would call being institutionalized
