my dishwasher has a door with 2 dispensers in it. The dishwasher packts say put in main dispnsr. which 1 is it

is it the first one that opens or the second?

both dispensers have lids that open at seperate times. The packets say you only use one, and put it in the main dispenser.

Get out your manual...it won't do any good asking us unless we know the make, model and serial number. You can get that info and then look online if you don't have your manual any longer....though that is something you should ALWAYS save!

The main dispenser will be the one with the door. The wash cycle will open that door at the right time.

The other compartment is for some additional soap. This will fall into the water as the machine fills, and will serve to loosen the crustie gunchies on the dishes. If you're only using the gel-pacs or a tablet, then just use the main dispenser but if you also have a box of detergent (loose granules) put a bit of that in the 2nd cup.

One of the dispensers has a lid, which you close after putting detergent in it. A dishwasher normally has two wash cycles, with the lid popping open at the beginning of the second wash. To make this work properly, you need to put some detergent in each dispenser.

It's the one with the little door on it that you can close and open. The other one is just for a little extra dishwashing soap. Kind of like a pre-wash I guess?

As you open door and look down inside. It should be the top one. But remember most companies will say use both. You don't need too. That's their way of selling more product
