That's a loaded question and you know it.
Ask me and I say Texas - OU.
Ask you and you say Ohio St - Michigan
Ask someone in L.A. and they say USC - Notre Dame

Everyone thinks there rivalry is the "biggest". Therefore, there can't be a "biggest". And by the way, Ohio State kicks your rear this year!

Hook'em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit
Sorry relay but the A&M game isn't what it used to be.

Right on. What else comes close? The game almost always has some meaning and even in years where one team is heavily favored there's always that upset potential in the air. Furthermore, the schools themselves and the players really take it seriously, which makes it even more fun.

USC v. UCLA? Nada. Oklahoma v. Texas? Who cares. OU v. Nebraska used to be a great one but not anymore -- if they still even play. Alabama v. Auburn? That was always a one-sided game. Florida v. Florida St. v. Miami? Once and awhile it one of those games was worth watching but c'mon, who cares anymore if you don't live in Florida?

Notre Dame v. USC has had some great contests over the years but its only second place for me in terms of rivalries. For a few years the Colorado - Colorado St. series was fun to watch, especially since the Rams went on quite a streak for a while. Pitt v. West Virginia is still usually a good game, and not too many people know about it.

But let's face it: none of them are Michigan v. Ohio St. Hail to the Victors v. Script Ohio. Can't beat it. And this year's edition will be a classic.

For the greatest game it's Army vs Navy as it's a true classic game and nothing like it anywhere. The most hated rivals even over Mich vs Ohio State is Auburn vs Alabama.

For tradition it has to be Army vs. Navy. That is the oldest one.

For pure fanaticism there is only one that can lay claim to the craziest - Alabama vs. Auburn. All you have to do is be in Alabama during the week before and the week after that game to understand. Even people who have never watched football get involved in that game. Marriages have been broken, families are torn asunder, fights break out, stores close, and everything turns various shades or red, orange, and blue.

While there are other rivalries that have their following, none can compare to these two.

Army VS Navy

what a fantastic question. because of all the hype these days college football is insanely competitive, especially in certain key regions of the country such as the southeast. in addition to everything else modern, including the dollars and cents of it all, the only constant is the history between the 2 schools i.e. stats and oral vernacular.
therefore, there is no doubt in my mind, based on two simple facts, history and quality of play/results, that the

AUBURN vs ALABAMA rivalry is way ahead, miles ahead of any other college matchup time and time and time again.

The best rivalry is Ohio State Michigan
However the most important one is Army Navy

Alabama vs. Auburn It's very hard to have friends and relatives on the opposite side of yours. I still have a grudge against my in-laws because of this game and I don't intend to let it go either.
