It is possible for cellphones to cause cancer, and using a headset will not stop the process. Lots of research has be done on this by cellphone manufacturers like Motorola. Unfortunately, before any hard evidence could be proven, Motorola pulled the funding and told the scientists,that they hired, that they were "looking too deep into this". or something along those lines.
So before any of you nay sayers out there dismiss this.... remember, we are being bombarded with RF and EM radiation all the time (whether you want to or not). The man made electromagnetic radiation and RF radiation have only been around for the last couple hundred years. We do not know what the full effect that this is to have on the human body, and we won't know for some years.

Until they've absolutely, positively proven that cell phones do or don't cause cancer use it. If it does you'll be in the company of millions of people around the Earth. But if you're really worried about it get one that plugs into the phone on a wire. They don't radiate any RF.

In the UK there has been loads of research projects into this. You will read some that say it does not cause problems and some say that they do. There is still not a definite answer.
