Since it seems your school has a retro kinda style, try looking at the styles of old-hollywood actresses (think marilyn monroe, audrey hepburn, bridgette bardot, etc.) and apply their style to your own, like marilyn's signature red lips or bridgette's famous "cat-eye" eyeliner and full volume hair with a headband. If you don't want to do something with make-up, maybe try audrey's graceful clothing and her up-do hair-style. Hope I helped!
