Jesus said, "Follow Me." So why would a person start a movement when Jesus has already done this? If you follow Jesus you do not have "religion." You have a relationship with Him. He wants us to be in intimate fellowship with Him through the reading of the Bible and prayer. That's how we get to know and love Jesus. His gift is free - all you have to do is accept His sacrifice by faith. That's the "good news" of the gospel. It's free! Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened. :)

As is said, going to church makes you as much of a Christian as standing in a garage makes you a car.

So, if one grows tired of religion, one can follow Christ. However, sadly, humanity doesn't think that way. Although the odd individual grows tired of the teachings of church but still remains devout, the majority of the human race will, well, follow the majority of the human race. Starting a following of Jesus without actually incorporating religion into the question is too much effort for the average human mind.

Unless, of course, it was King George IV who was doing it. If the alternative is beheading, most people would take the path of least resistance.

Some would and then they would grow into a big organized church and have traditions that no one should mess with and become one of the "fastest growing churches in America!"

Really Its a personal decision not to be religious I don't think you can make it a group thing.

Um, not sure but I think that would still be Christianity since the basic meaning of that word is "one who follows Christ" so, there you go.

Hang on, isn't this precisely what every single Christian religious group claims?
If people follow?
Man, that was a hit from day one about 2000 years ago....

I WOULD DEFINITELY.....
ME AND CHRIST ARE PRETTY CLOSE AND I HAVE MY OWN RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.AND WE ARE NOT RELIGIOUS AT ALL IN THE WAY WE ACCEPT EACHOTHER OR RESPECT EACHOTHER;MORE CALM AND SPIRITUAL IN THE NATURE OF WORSHIP THAN RELIGIOUS WAYS.OUR SIMPLICITY ONLY INTENSIFIES THE RELATIONSHIP I HOLD WITH GOD.SO MUCH MORE TIME IS SPENT WITH HIM THAN RELIGION BRINGS.I PRAY THAT EVERY CHRISTIAN GETS TO THE POINT OF COMFORT WITH OUR CREATOR AND OUR SAVIOUR THAT I HAVE BECAUSE OUR RELATIONSHIP IS SO INTENSE,TRUE,AND LOVING ONCE I GOT PAST THAT DEMANDING,RITUALISTIC CONFUSION OF RELIGION.RELIGION SEEMS TO UNDERMIND AND WEAKEN THE TRUE POWERS AND LOVE OF GOD IN WAYS.FROM MY PLACE HERE WITH GOD RELIGION DOES NOT GIVE THE PEOPLE THE CHANCE TO ESCAPE THEIR WORLDLY LIVES.TRUE FAITH IN HIS EXISTANCE IS STOPPED SHORT FOR SOME REASON AND LIFE CANNOT BE EXPLORED WITH HIS FREEDOM OF WISDOM.RELIGION BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER...WHICH IS A BEAUTIFUL THING SOMETIMES....BUT DOES CONFUSE THE EXPERIENCE OF HAVING A VERY PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IN WAYS.
GOD SITS BESIDE YOU ALWAYS.
