I sympathise, I have the same problem always looking awful in photographs, yet I don't think I look that bad when I see myself in the mirror, & I've had several boyfriends.
A tip I heard on tv a while back is to not face the camera straight on, but turn a little to the side as it's more flattering, & also to push your chin outwards & look up a bit so you don't get several chins. A slight smile can look better than a big cheesy grin or laughing.
I've tried these things & it helps a bit. Also, I think I'd rather look better in the flesh than my photo instead of the other way round, like all these celebrities!
Good luck. x

Hmm. I thought I was the least photogenic person in the world, but it sounds as though there are two -- or three -- of us!
You are born with a certain bone structure, and that is basically what determines whether you are photogenic or not. Top models learn to accentuate what the camera sees (which is not the same as what the human eye sees) to improve their image. You can do this too, if you want, and you can certainly make yourself more photogenic. But if you look mean and mad, makeup won't do anything for that. You'll have to sit in front of a mirror and practise a more cheerful, or at least a more benign, expression. As to the nose -- write that off to character. If you look at many famous people, they don't have perfect features, but it is what they stand for, not what they look like, that is important.
When I smile I'm all teeth, and when I don't I'm all nose, so the family album is full of dorky picture.

Get a digital camera and take pictures of yourself from different angles and with different facial expressions. Hopefully, you'll be able to find one. I remember hearing once from some supermodel on Oprah that you should breath in when the photo is taken... And for the bumps, since i'm to lazy to repsond to your other question to, use a highlighter color down the middle of your nose. It depends on your skin color but i use covergirl eye shadow in french vanilla for a highlighter. Use this color for under your eyebrows and down the middle of you nose. Then use a bronzer or blush or foundation thats a little darker (different people prefer different products for this, so it might be trial and error for you) and put it on the sides of your nose and the bumps, if you put the highlighter on the bumps, it'll will highlight them. Make sure to blend well.

you and your mom have serious trauma with your body! and to be photogenic depends on a lot of stuff. first of all of the photographer, the place where you're at, etc. if you don't like how you look in pictures, just try not to frown or make any gesture that makes you look mean or mad.
to be photogenic is something that some people are born with, but the majority learn how to... if not just look at the models.

u can DEFINITELY learn to be... :)
learn how to put on makeup in such a way that it hides flaws.. sometimes in PICTURES u will look awesome, but up close your makeup will look like a CLOWN!! funny huh? the flash can be your friend, so make sure u have good foundation on, to make your skin look flawless.... also, eyeshadow and eyeliner and mascara to make your eyes stand out... try to make your hair look good, and u can stand certain ways, or pose your head a little so that ur nose will look smaller, etc..... practice, and figure out what angle u look best!! good luck~
