I took depo for 7 years. I was constantly being told by people that anything that stops a period isn't good for your body, but I didn't listen. In the 7 years, I gained fifty pounds, but had no periods
(they were long and painful before depo). My skin also cleared up. Well I had my last shot In October of 2005, and here it is October of 2006, and my cycles have still not returned. I am now ready to ave a baby, but my body isn't cooperating. I now wish that I had never taken it. I have taken provera to try to induce ovulation, but nothing works. I am scared that I have ruined my chance to ever have a baby.

I love my Depo shot! Been taking it for 2yrs now. I have gained some weight, but my periods have completely stopped and I don't have the mood swings and breast swelling I had without it. NO PMS! If you're still getting a period, talk to your doctor. Maybe your dose isn't correct. They had to up mine because of break thru bleeding. The dizziness and fatigue are a side affect of the medication. I like the convenience of the shot. I'm amazed that I never got pregnant while on the pill - had a tendency to forget to take it. Good luck.

It looks like there could be some thing else going at here. i became on the shot some years in the past and that i finished it. I thoroughly stopped getting my era, i think of I have been given it approximately 4 cases a 365 days and easily for a pair of days. Are you anemic or something? you will have cysts or some thing worse. counting on your age in case you're an older woman you may ought to get a laser surgical operation finished the place they burn off the excess tissue on the uterus. I knew one individual who mandatory this finished and that they've been somebody who bled so heavily and for long sessions of time, is it accessible your wellness practitioner ignored some thing? i comprehend depo could reason strange bleeding yet this looks very strange to me.

I'm 21 years old with a 4 month old child. I started taking the depo provera when I was 17 I continued taking it on time until I found out that I was 6 weeks pregnant! They say its 99% effective... guess I'm just that one percent. I would do yasmine birth control pill, the syptoms are mild and for extra protection always use a condom!

Get off that shot I was on it for a year gained about 15 lbs. Have not been on it for 2.5 years and still trying to lose the weight. No matter how much I worked out on the shot I could not lose a pound. My best advice is to get off the shot. I was on yasmin for birth control and it was awsome low hormones and does not make you gain weight.
