Gossip... I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. I've never been one to gossip, and because it, my life, the things that I do, and don't do, have always been the center of it (within my own family, the most). But what I have come to realize is that the people that involve themselves in gossip are the people that are unhappy with their own lives. Think about this, If your life is rich and full of excitement and happiness, would you have the time, and/or the energy to to spend dwelling on the faults of others?
I have a cousin that is the Queen of Gossip. We call her Connie Chung, because she broadcasts ALL of EVERYONES business. Sometimes, I'd just sit back and watch her go! Its when I took a step back and looked at her, and evaluated the things that she has going for her, that I realized she derives a sense of validation by what she know about people, and what she can say about them.
To sum it all up, I think gossip is not a good thing, destructive even (to those that its about, the person that initiates is, and the ears that it falls unto).

I think gossip can have an impact on you if the gossip is about you.

There is so much good in the worst of us
And so much bad in the best of us
That it hardly behooves any of us
To talk about the rest of us!
