I guess it makes sense in the Lesbian household that the partners assume these roles. Does anyone have experience or know of partners who have assumed these roles. How have they dealt with it?

I know a lot of people answered Rosie O'Donnell. Besides the fact I can't stand her, I'd prefer to hear about it among "everyday people". Thanks....

A co-worker and her partner have traditional roles just like some men & women.
Some lesbian households have both partners working outside of the home....just like some men & women.
Except for who they're sexually attracted to there's not much difference.
Important fact....they're just like the rest of society..

Yes. My niece was housewife and took care of the two birth daughters of her significant other, who earned the money as a nurse. These were working roles; my niece was not subordinate to anybody. They split after about three years, but remained close friends. The other three Lesbian couples I have known have all been professional women, both working without children in the household- five social workers, one physician.

No. It never happens ever.
Out of the whole world, and all the people in it. No two lesbians live together where one takes the breadwinner role, while the other is a home maker.
Never.
Not one single couple.
Put this foolish thought out of your mind.

My best friends have been life partners for over 20 years and yes 1 works while the other stays at home and raises their children. It is a typical household. They function like a normal family and live life like everyone else.

This is just playing house. There is no such thing as a lesbian households. This is something made up by a fringe of society in an attempt to legitimize illicit behavior

Gays and lesbians are just like you and me. Sex, or sexual orientation does not neccessarily determine who will be the so called "breadwinner". In fact in my own relationship my boyfriend stays home with the kids and cooks and cleans and I go to work.

Yes, I had neighbors across the street, one went to work, and the other worked part-time and kept the home fires burning.

It would be the same as in a male female relationship. The feelings are the same it is just the sex is different (or the same)
