I know it is in Central Alaska. It gets very cold in the winter, very hot in the summer. It is one of the larger cities in Alaska, I believe maybe the second largest after Anchorage. It is near Denali National Park. There are very few paved roads further north of Fairbanks, though there is a very popular hot springs just to the north. Also right near Fairbanks is the town of North Pole, AK where they have Santa's workshop. Fairbanks is the home of the University of Alaska - Fairbanks or UAF, they have a very good nursing program and agriculture program. It was a big mining and trapping town, and there are still a number of mines in the area.
