the entire unit is less than 900 sq ft and there are 7 occupants (two adults and five children)

i am not a rat fink, but the ignorant owner of this humble property. i read in the uniform building code act about limitations of 2 per 120 sq ft and then an additional 50 sq ft per additional person is that for fire codes?

Yes. It is defined in your lease. If it isn't your apartment, quit being so damned nosy.

There is no legal limit, but there are the fire codes which dictate maxmimum occupancy.

If you are asking to rat on someone. Quit hating and help them. nobody lives shoulder to shoulder by choice. Make things easier on them not harder.

Here in SC the law is 2 heartbeats per bedroom. Laws vary from state to state.

Usually it is the landlord the establishes the tenancy limits. If it is government housing, check with the authority.
Does your contract spec a limit ?

in california they do not go by square footage, for example:
one bedroom 2 allowed
two bedroom a 4 allowed
three bedroom 6 allowed

I think it depends on where you live. Usually the landlord says how many people can live in a certain area.

i'm sure it depends where u live - but i also think it depends on how many bedrooms there are. such as two bedrooms: two adults and maybe two children? the apt. ur talking about - - i'm sure that is illegal.
