dickn2000: uh... first... I see why your name is dick... second... it was Baker himself who was talking on the show? just because it's a comedy show, does that instantly mean that anything said that is newsworthy can't be used?

BAKER SAID IT... HE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE JOKING...

but I guess all you can do is insult...

They are just going to claim it's Clinton's fault no matter what you do. He did not give them nuclear secrets, but merely supplies for technology similar to it only for energy production.

They don't care that Bush did virtually nothing to prevent North Korea from gaining nuclear warhead technology for almost 6 years while he was in office.

This isn't a d amn thing to do with Democrats and Republicans. Do you read history? Korea - we been there, done that! Post WW2, remember? Another war like Vietnam. Was that Bush's fault, too? Besides, we have nukes! Do we own the entire world?! Who are we to tell other countries to stop nuclear testing? Look at the desert southwest right here in this country! The US has done more nuclear testing than anyone in the world! Not to mention using them at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Why don't YOU go do something about it?

Got news for you, you moron... The current problems with North Korea started with the Carter administration. Agreements were made with North Korea that were all broken. Clinton apeased North Korea by giving them the seeds of nuclear technology. And to quote of all the crap programs, The Daily Show as a source of factual information, shows exactly how really naive and uneducated you are!!

The question is really: what plausibly ought to have been done that was not done? Should we have gone to war with North Korea at the time? Should we do so now? Nothing short of this would have, or would now, dissuade NK from doing what it has been doing. These are not trivial questions -- it requires (or certainly should require) a lot of careful thought before going to war.

They didn't have any money to work on any nukes until the Clinton administration who gave them billions of dollars in aid.

Yes, Clinton did nothing about NK, Palestine, or BinLaden. He had an offer to get him and he turned it down. He is not very bright at times.
