i would like to change the last name of my son to his fathers name but his father is not written on any birth records.what do i have to do? what questions will be asked of me and will the gov' punsih the baby father for not being there in the beginning financially?

girl just go to the post office and say u want to change his last name to whatever.

You can change his name to Yahoo if you wanted to.

You may however have to get your son's signature depending how old he is.

Your town clerk can tell you what forms you need. I belive you make your request to the Social Security Adminstration.

I can't see the father getting punished, this sort of thing has happened before.
