i was working on the document and i saved it but now it says it is there but it wont open it

Try removing and reinserting the floppy until it loads for you...This might take several tries.....Make sure you back your documents unto a new one

Floppy:)Someone actually still uses it?! Any way with that type of "secondary storage" the main problem is that with time and without proper care, the magnetic part of it just goes nuts and wont work anymore...you know how the magnet parts work...they can simply lose their power and become useless.On the other hand maybe the plastic part is broken so you (or someone who knows how to do that) can try and put it into the other plastic box, but also very very carefully.
P.S.did you try to open it on some other computer?That can work sometimes:)

Do you have pictures in this document or Pesentation? IF you do maybe the pictures arn't on the floppy and thats why. I only knew of this problem happening once before. I don't know much about it and wouldn't want you to waise your time on something not worth it.

there might be a little switch on the floppy disk that enables it to "lock" the files that are on it (make them inaccessable) try flipping that switch both ways and see if you get any results

Try opening the file in MS windows 98 .
