On the one hand you have the girl-next-door whom over the years sometimes just tries to hard just to please a man. Ronnie is known to have quite a temper if you don't treat her right. I've been like Betty and sometimes like Veronica now and then.
Guys would choose Veronica just because Betty is just too average. However for those who want to settle down and become a family man Betty is the breadwinner. At my age, I'll choose Betty also because she walks away from the stereotypical 'dumb blonde'.
Some of us have to reminded that you're always paying for everything when dating Ms. Veronica Lodge. If that's the case I'd rather get myself a hooker. The difference is that I'll know what to expect after paying for a good time. Betty Cooper is the type of gal you take home to meet my mother and hope that she's a keeper in the long run.

At one time I would have said Betty, but as I get older and more realistic I have to say Veronica ( Daddy is rich)

People get along better with those who are from their own social class and economic level. As much as it might be fun to think of Archie and Veronica getting married, she is not right for him, and as he matures, he will realize this. Either he will not be able to support her in the manner to which she is accustomed to live, and she will not respect him and they will be miserable together, or he will become a sponge and live off her father's wealth, and she will not respect him and they will be miserable together. Betty is really the one. She like Archie and respects him. She is the better girl for him, and it must be frustrating for her that he doesn't realize it yet.
