dont' do it just because of the date, do it whenever it is right for you.

If its not the right time for you to tell your parents then wait until it is. National Coming Out Day organizers aren't going to let you sleep on their couch if your folks toss you out into the street. Have a plan and a place to stay, and tell them when you are ready. Good luck to you.

Honey,
As one of your brother who had to make the painful, painful choice whether to be honest with my parent and keeping the peace and eventually comming out to them, I can say for to you for sure that not coming out is OK! Now every one else don't raise your guns and prada heels at me yet I'll explain why.
Coming out is something personal. There's shouldn't be a day where we just come out, think it over, is it the right time to come out, do you know how this will affect your parents? Your Siblings? Your Relatives? If you think they'll respond well to it then kick open that closet door and hoist up the rainbow flag! If not, just go out to the local watering hole and throw one back.
Come out when you ready to, don't come out because it's a day for it.

Make sure you're ready to come out to them, and that you're prepared for the possible fallout first. just because it's comminug out day doesn't mean that you have to rush to your parents and tell them. I think part of the point of the day is to get the word out and help give each other a push in the direction of living a full, out life.

You will know deep inside when you are ready to come out.
for me,it was not only telling someone i was a lesbian, but it was finally accepting ME for who i am without shame or fear. I felt a weight lift of my shoulders, It took me years to say the word LESBIAN... when i use to try and say it i got very angry inside.
I had not come to grips with who i am. a day dedicated by some schmuck isn't a "reason" to " COME OUT" that's silly.
You will feel this when you are ready.....Good Luck.

Just tell them. If people cannot accept you for you, than the world is not ready for this. Your parents should support you, every step of the way, no matter which way you chose. But, if you feel that you're not ready, then don't tell them.

You should come out when you're ready and when you feel that you need too. If it's paining you to keep the secret then you may want to come out because you'll feel much better.

You alone can answer your own question.
Just weigh things out.
Determine of you're ready to come out to them.
Just a word of encouragement: It's really nice being out of the closet.
You'd be living a more purposeful life.
So, I encourage you to come on out when you're ready.
Best of luck!

Only if this feels right to you to do it. If not no. I know this is a tough situation and stressful and uncomfortable. I hope your parents are as supportive as my husband and i when we found out my step daughter is gay. i wish you all the best

It depends on how old you are -- if you need to live under there roof than you might want to wait... I would have to say wait until you know with out a doubt that it is time to tell them...
