I have worked in Corrections for quite a few years. I was a Correctional Sgt. when I left.
1st If your prisons are state run, then you will have to go to the state web site that you want to work in.
2nd. Most correctional positions require a test. They will hire by what ever your placement is on the test.
3rd. Most state have a academy that lasts about 2-6 weeks. Depends on the state.
3rd. You need to think about what it will be like being locked up 8-12 hrs a day with convicted felons. From murders to baby rapers.
I have been involved with riots and too many fights to remember.
Think about what you want.

It will be at the indiviual city's website. It may be faster and easier to go to an actual police station to inquire about employment.
