on 9-11 they found a passport from one of the hijackers. now this plane that crashed in NYC, they say that they found Cory Lidle's passport. Are they made of something special that makes them able to resist flame?

My passport, which I am looking at now, has a heavy paper cover sort of like coated poster board. The inside front cover is sort of laminated and contains my photo and other information. The rest of it is pretty much regular paper which is used for stamps for immigration points you pass through. They are rather small and lightweight, and could easily be ejected depending on where they are stored. I doubt they are flame resistant.

They are light paper and they blow out of the crash prior to the burning of the aircraft.
