I'd go with the second one. It is so true, especially since when you leave high school all the memories you have of it, good and bad, will be with you throughout your life - the friends you made, the experiences you had, and all the crowning achievements you ever accomplished in your school career.
One question: is this your graduating year of high school? If so, and if you get elected valedictorian, be sure to put that quote in your speech.

I like the one in De Anda - it's so true, those years in school are the best in your life. And it really isn't measured by how far you've come, but the memories you've created with your friends. You'll never get those back. You can always continue to learn, but those moments are what got you through the years.
Good luck!:)

Your quote is silly, as no one ever has suggested measuring life in miles in the first place.
The Megadeth lyrics are better, but only marginally: they are self-dramatising and pretentious.

Don't care for the first one.
In the 2nd, shouldn't life be measured in time or years? I would go with the 2nd.
