When some people say that they're "IN love" what they often really mean, although I'm sure many would disagree, is that they're in *lust*. Sometimes it means that *everything is going great in the relationship right now* and at other times it means *I genuinely and deeply care for this person on a level that is more intense than the mere "platonic love" that I feel for anyone else. It really depends upon who's saying it.

I asked this question here just yesterday and got very vague answers. My SO doesn't understand the difference between the two and says love is love is love. I am not in love with him. I love him like a brother or any other friend, but I am no longer IN LOVE with him. He still cannot see the difference *shrug*.

being in love - it doesn't last. A temporary state of insanity that may be good for you, but just like taking a drug (which is what's actually happening, hormones), the effect goes away after a while.
Loving - it is in action, a choice. One makes a choice to love someone else and and chooses to act in a loving way toward that person. You're in control, so this can last forever, it's your choice when you end it.

I think "being in love" is a feeling that come and go. I can't remember how many times I was" in love" with someone. It's an emotional roller coaster (love hate love hate). Loving someone means you love them completely faults and all. To be committed to staying together thru the bad times and worse (affairs, betrayals, etc.)

When you love someone, you feel for them the same way you feel for a family member. It's unconditional. It doesn't matter if the person smells good or looks good that day, or does something you like. You love them anyway.
Being in love with someone is the infactuation you get when you first fall for some one. When you can't wait to see them again. The thought of them gives you goosebumps. "In love" is your bodies chemical, mental reaction to someone you are attracted to.

Loving someone can mean loving your parents, siblings or friends. Being in love is loving someone with passion and attraction involved. Something u feel for your significant other.

being in love skill which you particularly care approximately this individual and can do something for this individual and it is likewise a dedication. Loving somebody may be like pals or relatives. you adore them yet you at the instant are not thoroughly dedicated to them.

in my opinion, these are two different things.... loving someone is comfortable, like ur sister, brother, best friend , etc..... being in love is meeting ur soul mate& having a passion between you.
