They say to expect to look 5 months pregnant the first couple of weeks then the "swelling" will start to go down. I found this true with all of my kids. Almost as soon as the bleeding stopped I noticed a change. I was also breast feeding, this burns LOTS of calories!

Everyone is different, I for one, didn't look pregnant, but looked like my tummy had been deflated...ew! But I used the Postpardum belt in which you can get at Babies R US, and that worked within a month for me, my tummy went back to normal size...

It really depends on you. With my first child I was still wearing maternity shirts 6 weeks later. (I had also gained nearly 38lbs) with my son who was emergency c-section I was back in to my pre-pregnancy jeans in about 4 or 5 weeks.

40 weeks? Shouldn't you have given birth by now? 9 months times 4 weeks = 36 weeks.....

put it this way : it takes 9m to get that way..itll take 9m+ to get rid of it
but most goes away immediatly(the uterus part..it shrinks within 24-72hrs)
