i have a Dell L400 and i bought an external CD rom so i can download Windows XP instead of linux, but from some reason, nothing is happeing, it reads the CD but winows isnt installing it self like it should do..a little help plz?

I don't think I have enough info to figure out what's happening but to install windows xp you need to set your computer to boot to the external cd drive so that windows boots from the setup cd. This is usually done from the bios screen. I believe f2 is the key you hit to go to the bios screen. Set your external cd rom as the first boot device.

I dont get your question...Is it that you already have Linux and wanna download Windows too...if so, please uninstall linux...if not, first install windows and then install Linux....you might have to do some partitioning in order to install both OS....go to google and search on partioning...u will get a lot of stuff....also Linux is open source...i.e. free...you dont need a CD to download it....you can directly download it from internet...hope this helps!!!

lolyou can download linux for free you cant download windows xp , you have to buy windows xp
