No. It was meant as a little in-joke and shown to friends of the people who worked on the show. The interesting thing is, Rainbow was actually made by the same people who made the Carry On movies, which explains a lot about the sense of humor. lol

This clip has done the rounds at work for 2 years. It apparently was shown on tv, but whether it was part of the main programme run I don't know.
We look at it here every now and again and howl at it

A friend of mine had it on videotape around 1985, and as I remember he said it was part of video made for employees of the production company (Thames Television I think) - so no, it wasn't broadcast, but it was privately distributed on video, (according to my school friend at least).

as far as i know it did! are you british? if you are then you may know (if you are old enough) that during the 70s and 80s, british children's shows were notorious for being full of innuendo and hidden adult themes. who says that us brits are repressed!?! we've had sexual tv stuff shoved down our throats since birth. its quite disturbing really! did you ever hear of a show called captain pugwash. it was an animaton about a sea captain and his crew...... there was roger-the-cabin boy, seaman staines......... how perverted are those character names?????!!!!!!!! now british kids don't watch kids shows, they're far too busy being pregnant and stealing cars! just kidding!

Very funny, haven't seen it for a couple of years.

I doubt if it was shown. Presumably it was made for an in-house ITV Christmas tape.
