Since you are only 12 years old, and your periods are irregular, that is nothing to worry about. Oft times when mensrual cycles first start they are irregular for several months or so. You will be come regular soon enough. Periods for everyone are different. You might be every 28 days but someone else could be 31 or 32 days, then there will be months when you just spot for a day or two or have a regular flow for 3 - 5 days. Everyone is different. Talk to your mom and if you are worried about it go to your regular doctor. Don't worry, you won't have to have a pelvic exam, but sometimes explinations from the doctor can put your mind at ease. Just remember, now that your are menstruating, you CAN get pregnant. Best thing is not to have sex, especially at your age. Again, talk to your mom, she can answer any questions you might have.

On average, you cycle will be 28 days. Your cycle starts on the first full day of bleeding. Usually, you period will last 5-7 days.
Also, everyone is different. Some girls will become regular right after starting, other will not. Hope this is helpful. Anymore questions, and you can email me. I am 26 yrs old and a mother of one.
