I have been borderline diabetic for quite a while...this A.M. when I took a blood sugar test before I had eaten anything yet for the day, it read 168...I ate some turkey and swiss cheese and now when I tested my blood (about 4 hours later) it reads 126...Thanks for listening... your fasting blood sugar rate seems to indicate that you may have diabetes.

the normal ranges for a fasting (A fast is when you have not eaten or drank anything except water for 8 - 12 hours) blood glucose are
70 - 109 mg/dl
3.9–6.0 mmol/L

Pre-Diabetes
110 - 125 mg/dl
6.1–6.9 mmol/L

Diabetes
126 mg/dl and higher
>7.0 mmol/L

I would definately contact your doctor and discuss your results
In the meantime I would cut down on high carb and sugary foods.
and eat more protein and vegetables. and get some exercise if possible

If you have not already had one a glucose tolerance test may be in order.

diabetes can be quite serious if not treated but the good news is if you do treat it it can be quite manageable

good luck to you

The "normal" blood sugar range goes from anywhere from 70 to 150. That is what I've always been going by, and have kept my blood sugar under control most of the time. Usually, I feel low/hypoglycemia if I am under 100. Remember, blood sugar for diabetics are different than for non-diabetics, because there is a wider range of control. As for pregnancy, I'm sorry, but I do not know the answer to this, because personally I can never get pregnant, cause I'm male haha(; I suggest your ask your doctor about pregnancy topics.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Sue,
I answered your other question, about what you can eat to bring down blood sugar? I tried to go back and add something, but I couldn't.

There IS something you can ingest that is safe and will bring your blood sugar down - MARGINALLY.

Cinnamon.

Research shows that cinnamon contains a natural molecule that not only acts like insulin, but also decreases insuling resistance. These affect are temporary.

In a study of several hundred people, including a placebo group, the group that had about 3 tablespoons of Cinnamon per day were able to lower their BGL control drugs by about 30% and maintain normal BGL levels.

So drink tea with LOTS of cinnamon! It will help.

But of course, you need to go to a doctor and get some drugs. 168 is NOT OK. For that matter, neither is 126. You are NOT borderline any longer, I'm thinkin.

But avoid the older drugs containing glyburide.

A fasting read of 168 is way too high. Fasting rates should fall within the 80-120 range. You need to go to your doctor and have them run an A1C test to see what your blood sugar levels have been doing over an extended amount of time.

i am not worried about the 126, but if you are saying your fasting was 168-you are not borderline, you are diabetic. be sure your doctor knows you are running fasting blood sugars of 168-it may be time for medication
