How you feel about yourself is normal, (mother of 2 also). However it is important to eat well and keep your daily diet as good as you can. That can be costly also...in today's society we want everything now with little or no effort. What you put in you will get out. I realize that some things will never be as they were, but even if you decide to have Dr. help lets say tummy tuck, you will have a much better result if you have been working out and eating the best that you can afford. I suggest that you become informed about what is healthy eating etc. and join an on line fitness program of some kind, a good one is www.fitnessmagazine.com, good luck with that I do know how you feel, it all starts with you, be proactive and get what ever help you need until you feel better!

The only advise I can give you is to try to relax, you might be going through depression. Having a baby, taking care of the baby and being along, is a hard load to have. I would suggest to you that the next time you visit your doctor discuss this with him. Remember, after childbirth some of us go through depression and it is something that you can get help for, you don't have to do it alone. As far as your body, give it time also, as soon as you get back to who you where before the baby, you will notice that you are still as pretty or prettier than you were before. God bless you and your precious baby.

What is depression?
Depression can be described as feeling sad, blue, unhappy, miserable, or down in the dumps. Most of us feel this way at one time or another for short periods. But true clinical depression is a mood disorder in which feelings of sadness, loss, anger, or frustration interfere with everyday life for an extended time. Depression can be mild, moderate, or severe. The degree of depression, which your doctor can determine, influences how you are treated.

How common is depression during and after pregnancy?
Depression that occurs during pregnancy or within a year after delivery is called perinatal depression. The exact number of women with depression during this time is unknown. But researchers believe that depression is one of the most common complications during and after pregnancy. Often, the depression is not recognized or treated, because some normal pregnancy changes cause similar symptoms and are happening at the same time. Tiredness, problems sleeping, stronger emotional reactions, and changes in body weight may occur during pregnancy and after pregnancy. But these symptoms may also be signs of depression.

What causes depression?
There may be a number of reasons why a woman gets depressed. Hormone changes or a stressful life event, such as a death in the family, can cause chemical changes in the brain that lead to depression. Depression is also an illness that runs in some families. Other times, it's not clear what causes depression.

During Pregnancy
During pregnancy, these factors may increase a woman's chance of depression:

History of depression or substance abuse
Family history of mental illness
Little support from family and friends
Anxiety about the fetus
Problems with previous pregnancy or birth
Marital or financial problems
Young age (of mother)
