I love the way some people assume you aren't married with the information given! I had it done 9 years ago and I have regretted it ever since. Please think long and hard before you decide to do it. I was married at the time to my son's father. A year after having it done, I was divorced. Three years later, I married Mr. Right and he has no children. I went thru a terrible depression wanting a child and not being able to concieve anymore. I know you are thinking what does this have to do with you, but I just wanted to share my experience so you would think about it first. Some women never regret it.

If you are married, or already have children then go ahead and have it done. I had mine done at 28 (I am 40 now) after my 2nd child was born, I had a boy and a girl and I don't want any more kids. If you haven't had kids yet talk to your GYN about other means of birth control. Having the procedure is not hard just take the time to heal. But having the procedure reversed I have heard is a nightmare and can cause problems when you try to get pregnant.

I think you're too young. I've known several women who didn't want kids until they hit 35, then boom, they decide they'd like to be a mom.

I'd keep your options open, unless there's some other medical factors or reasons to do it now?

Usually, it is the guy who gets fixed anyway, since it's easier to reverse, and a simpler procedure, etc.(assuming you're in a relationship?)

As a guy, I never wanted to be a dad until I turned 35, now I'm seaching for someone to settle down with and start a family.

I had it done, and I was on the couch for a couple days.

By the third day, I felt pretty good, so I jumped up and started cooking, and cleaning, and doing housework.

Back on the couch for another week. OUCH!

Give yourself time to heal properly, no matter how good you feel! :-))

Other than that, it was no big deal! ;-))

Mine were cut, burned, and tied, endoscopic (keyhole) surgery.

I hope this helps you!

I went through it after I had my daughter 9 years ago. It was fine, I had no problems, but I had mine cut and tied.
