I just won a rated chess game. But my rate didn't move I am wondering if yahoo should check their software?

It may just be a lag in system,if you joined at the very start of game.if someone dropped out and you took their seat,they got the points not you.

Once your chess rating is set, it won't move as much afterwards. Pretty much you have to win against higher-rated players in increase your rating as lower-rated players won't help your rating as much based on the rating.

You'll have to look on how Yahoo! calculates your rating. See sources on how to calculate your rating.
