Yes and so can some of us humans.

Animal have a much keener sense of what they can't see than us. My dog will suddenly jump up from a very relaxed state and bark madly for no reason we can fathom. He willsometimes run from one end of the house to the other, barking. There is nobody there. But does he sense something else? I think yes. I do believe in spirits and dogs sense them.

I don't know for sure. But one night I was in the apartment I used to have, and my Keeshond at the time kept looking up in one corner of the ceiling and barking, and there wasn't anything there that I could see. The lights were on. There wasn't a bug, nothing was flying around, etc.. It really made me wonder the same thing.

I beleive they can sense things us human can't and like one other respondent said they don't have the hang ups like us humans do....It is documented in many cases of suspected paranormal activity that animals can act strangly like refusing to go into rooms barking at nothing, heckles raising on their backs etc etc, I do beleive they sense more then us humans and mayby that is a good thing becuase most of the time they protect us.

I say yes.
I also say humans can detect spirits too.
A particularly sensitive friend was in our house while my wife was ill and she was able to detect two spirits, and actually name them as two of my wifes deceased relatives. She didn't just give initials. She used actual names.
The friend in question knows nothing about our extended families, so would have had no way of knowing the names of these relatives.
At times when these things happen, our dogs gazes are transfixed on the spot where we are told the spirits are stood (often seemingly empty space), and nothing will force them to break their gaze.
I defy anyone to provide me with a valid non-paranormal explanation of these events.

Their senses are much sharper in one way or the other. I think we humans have neglected our "third eye" and don't know our inner instincts anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if animals could sense other things we are not aware of and as someone said before, I believe that some humans can aswell.

There was an illusionist years ago named James Randi ( he is the man that proved Uri Gellar to be a fraud) that kept a check in the amount of $10,000.00 in his wallet for anyone that could show him a haunted house, a ghost, psychic powers, etc. that he couldn't prove to be fake. To my knowledge, he never gave the check to anyone! Check it out for yourself - he was called 'The Great Randi'.

You need to rephrase your question, there is no scientific evidence spirits excist. nor is there that they dont for that matter...
I beleive somthing strange is with us and agree that animals will act strangly at times when things seem natural to us.
Its a possiblilty they sense somthing but what ........who knows

Who knows if animals can necessarily "see" things like that, but I believe that they can sense things that us humans can't.
