lots.
I think that girls with designer everything and name brand everything are trying to make up for their lack of something such as personality. And I think it's stupid that these people on yahoo answers say that kids in the suburbs can't afford "designers" so we shop at aeropostale and AE. Those aren't even designers! They're stores! It's because the inside of the brain is jell-o, but with Louis Vuitton emblames. And most of the girls at my school have a cell phone and an iPod Shuffle. We're not too needy. But I think people are trying to grow up too fast.

trust me my school was overrated! i couldn't believe how many people have those things and actually i do have all of those things except for the northface but i only used my ipod at home or on trips, i never used my coach purse yet and i used my cell phone for emergencies or otherwise it was left at home. but now i am at a school that doesn't have all of those things and i am loving it! i love being in a place where there are no snobby girls!

Its always the thing that they want to separate the "have's" from the "have nots". It is a bit stupid really.
At my school they used to judge people from the shoes they wore (not on clothes because we had uniforms), the bags they carried, the hairstyles they had. At the end of the day who cares? They should just get on with their own lives.
At one point it was who had the best design on their socks...now that IS pathetic!

I think alliSon has something there. Its a lack of someones personality that they are trying to make up for it through products, like thats really going to make them seem more interesting. These are the same people that walk around with the designer assessories with a sense of arrogance. Its a way for them to hide there secret that their really boring people. That materialism is a pipe dream. One things for certain, you come in this life with nothing, you're going to go out of this world with nothing.

thats exactly the same at my school......personally, i don't see the purpose of wasting money on a coach purse if you can just get a perfectly good one at marshalls or t j maxx. cell phones are good to have but not if ur gonna be showing it off and letting it ring during a class....JUST TURN IT OFF AND LEAVE IT IN UR BACKPACK!!!! lol and ipods are fun but people need to stop showing it off.....and with the northface.....whats the point in spending 175$ on a coat or fleece whatever you call it...lol and i HATE when people wear the skirt with the leggings it gets on my nerves it doesnt just not make sense...its not even cute!!! lol

I guess they would seem stupid to someone that is extremely poor.
But I hate Northface & Coach.
Coach for being cheap, and for the bourgeoisie.
Northface, everyone has it.
Um, doesn't everyone need a cell phone?
I can live without an ipod, because I am able to put music from my computer to my phone.

same at my school...
except at my school all the phones are razrs or more expensive
lots only wear abercrombie or designer
they also have expensive shoes
(i'm not saying I hate those people because many of them are nice and i sometimes have those things and i like being in a school that has well-off and educated people in it)

I dont really think that all the things that the girls have at your school are that outrageous...but more than half the girls at my school wear Holllister, which in my mind, is one of the worst brands money could buy!!

yeah even though i have a northface, a designer bag, a cell phone, and a iPod but i dont bring any of it to skewl except the northface.

same with my school but i have a cell phone a coach bag and an ipod. there is nothing wrong just it shows off your style and how much $$$ you have,
but i just need my music so i need my ipod.
