1.) The only president to make the country debt free.
2.) He enhanced the power of the presidency, allowing it to more effectively deal with situations as they arose.
3.) He defused Nullification crisis, where states were threatening to nullify Federal laws. Had he not, it would have neutered the Federal government.
4.) Jackson is widely credited with increased political participation by American citizens, both with candidates that were more appealing to them, and by extending franchise without regard to property ownership. While this was not done solely by Jackson, his influence definitely helped push it along.
