It has never allowed commercial advertising on terrestrial channels or radio - it has been government / license fee funded since its conception.

No, not commercial advertising. The only advertising I can recall which wasn't programme related would be the value you get from the BBC for the cost of the TV licence.

It's own product endorsements, it's idents and previews of programs are great to see a few times, but when shown dozens of times throughout the day, they become so mind numbing.

sorry. i watch the sky programes. much more instresting. you should try it. i never watch bbc1 bbc2 itv channel 4 or five. it's all crap. and so yesterday.
