The sq of 2 more than a # = (x+2)^2
4 less than 10 times the # = 10x-4

First one: set up 2 equal equations i.e if x is the number we want to find (x+2)^2=10x-4 then just rearrange and solve the quadratic

2nd one is similar M is mary, J is Jane

m=j+15
m-6=6j then substitue to solve

Hope that helps!
