I have always made my children's and grand children's costumes and I am not a seamstress by any means. What we have often done is take stuff from around the house and turned it in to a costume. We took a large box and made one of my girls a dinning room table complete with a table setting and a vase with a flower in it.

We took an over sized green sweat shirt one year and made one of the kids a Christmas tree. We even put boxes around her shoes and wrapped them as presents.

Go as a duvet. Get a duvet cover, cut a hole in the top and two at the sides and just pop it on, you'll look great and if you are a little on the chubby side you will look just like a duvet.

I saw a person that was a gas pump once. And another cool one is gum under a shoe. For that one, wear a pink jumpsuit, and duct tape a shoe to your head.
