Since England's next Euro 2008 match is in March, I don't think you will see a change like that unless Rooney is hurt. He has 5 months to play with Man U. before that time and should once again be a goal scoring machine by the time they face Isreal. That being said, you could argue whether or not he was fit enough to play in the games so far. I think a healthy Joe Cole will be the tonic England needs moving forward.

overpaid rejects, the whole team doesn't gel, Maclaren the sack, Martin Oneall knows how to sort a team out and get them playing well and winning. Theo Walcott is too young dont spoill him with an England 1st team place keep him hungry and make him really work for a 1st team place, as for Rooney he hasn't played too many games since his injury and is gradually building his speed, sharpness, he has been goal starved but once he scores one hell keep scoring. Give Rooney time to find his true form and keep Theo Walcott hungry by keeping him in the under 21 team until18.

I don't think putting Theo Walcott will help.

England doesn't have good midfielders that can break the opposing defense. There are just too many stray passes to the strikers. They will find it hard to score even if they have Messi, Eto, Drogba or Henry in their team.

Surely it couldn't do any harm to give the lad a chance.Might wake Rooney and the likes up.How is it that being the length of time McClaren has been in the Engand set up, he doesn't appear to have a clue.

I reckon they should to see how it goes, but Theo has been put with the under 21's and right now they are playing for European Championship and that would be really unfair to the under 21 to suddenly take him back to the senior team

absolutly, rooney has only scored 2 goals in 18 competitive games! Theo is on fire recently, hes the young Thierry.

i think at the moment the england has many options on the bench and if rooney is finding it hard to hit back form i think he shouldnt please one man to displease others cos i see a good option in defoe and when johnson is back he will make a perfect replacement for rooney.
