My mother and father decided to name me Iaoei (pronounced iya, o, e) do you think that its weird and what are your views on parents calling there children unusual name? like gwn paltrow calling her daughter Apple, or Brooklyn becham or Bluebell Madonna (geri Halliwell)

i like your name and i enjoy unusual names...it's refreshing after seeing boring names like: ana rebecca, sara, john, joe, frank, etc.

I believe it would not have been possible for your mother to name you Iaoei had that not been the name that was truly yours. As hollywood and other media stars often have different "stage" names than their given birth names, when they give their children weird names, it is just - well- weird. Many parents pick names before the baby is born, but after giving birth, the mother is likely to make some change - maybe a different middle name, or a different spelling, or a foreign spelling, and this happens because you must have your "right" name. Fate intervenes and makes any necessary changes for you. Famous kids are often lost and wandering for most of their lives and that is because their fate is confused by false names taken to play act at life by their parents. So - I think your name is beautiful and that you should be proud.

Looks nice, a bit difficult to pronounce though. I guess all names had to start somewhere. People probably thought Susan and Jennifer and Thomas and Michael were peculiar once upon a time. I guess if the child doesn't like it they can ask to be called something else and then change it by deed poll if they feel that strongly about it when they're older.

I think that parents have a huge responsibility when naming their children. The trouble is, the names tend to say more about the parents than about their offspring, who have to go through life bearing the results of their choice!

I like your name because it sounds romantic and unique - I'm against naming children after fruit - who would want to be called "Banana" ! I think parents should think about the impact daft names have on kids in later life.

It's a little weird yeah but its still pretty :) I think Apple is kinda mean because its a fruit, I mean c'mon :) At least Iaoei is exotic and interesting!

I think girls can get away with having different names a boys name should be strong- I know someone who called there little boy rex!- now thats just cruel!!
