I combed my hair while on the entrance sidewalk to a restaurant. I combed my hair in a sparsely populated McDonald's. Each of these my wife says was poor etiquette. Do you agree?

i'd say you're fine, as long as you're not combing it over food so your dandruff doesn't fly everywhere

In the sense that if someone was near enough to you and did the same thing it may make u feel queasy or annoyed... just because it is being done in or directly outside of a restaurant. Hair combing, in the sense of etiquette should not be done in a restaurant or near food in general but in a bathroom, for sanitary purposes and good manners.

Absolutely!

Your personal hygiene is something that you're supposed to keep personal. You do it in the privacy of your own home or a restroom, and not do it in public - ever.

In particular, you should not do this kind of thing near where other people will be eating...consider that every time you comb your hair, you lose some...where is it landing? Others will be left to assume that it's landing in their food. Ew.

Actually you did the right thing. If you were to analyze the food at this Mc Donalds you will see that your hair is not the only one present. Advice------No fast food restaurants. There is no need for etiquette at these places.

Combing hair in public is pretty gay. Do it in a restroom. Were you really trying to impress any fatsos in the McDonalds?

yeah, it's tacky. first of all, it's mac and don's supper club. who cares what your hair looks like. secondly, your wife is a bit uptight, but correct -- dude, you don't be doing anything remotely related to personal care anywhere near a restaurant. People are there to eat, not to be treated to a fly by cootie. Sheesh! You need to get out more!

I agree with your wife. Grooming doesn't belong around food.

I don't think it's rude, but I do think it's a weird thing to do in a public place.
